I Love the Summertime!

If you would have asked me last week how I was enjoying my summer- I would have rolled my eyes. I missed working. I was bored and I didn't know what I was going to do. Not used to having every minute planned out. And I wasn't happy sitting at home. :) BUT- I've caught the summertime bug. I am IN LOVE with my time off and I'm having a blast. I must admit, I've been VERY productive too. Yay for me. Here are a few things I've done.

1. After a year of waiting since I got a notice in the mail- I got a new driver's license. I have been using my one that I've had since I was 16. And can I say- not a pretty sight. haha. No-one can believe I did it- but believe it guys. There is no more laminate around my picture!

2. I took two of my favorite boys to SPRINKLES to enjoy a cupcake. Aaron said it was the best cupcake that he's ever had. It was my date with the "bruthas." Please notice in Aaron's close-up that he is enjoying the chocolate on his lips!

3. My family always jokes that when I go to the Gonzalezes I come home with parting gifts. This last weekend was no different. I was awarded four new pairs of shoes. Take note of:

The Mrs. Reed Golden Flip Flops.

The white jeweled flip flops- they are a killer. I have the blisters to prove it!

The PR special wedges. (Can't wait to wear these to work.)

The casual "scarf" flip slops. They are so comfortable. Like walking in a pair of Allie's Crocs. haha. (see her blog)

4. I've been cleaning out my storage unit. 6 boxes and a dresser left to go. Today while cleaning out I found this Unicorn stuffed animal. It was given to me by the kids I nannied for a couple of years ago. It's from build a bear and if you push on the hoof it says "Happy Birthday Katie!" How cute is that? And I'm keeping it. I'm not putting it in the give-away pile like I've done with a lot of other things.

5. Allie and Aaron's wedding is fast approaching and so is her shower. It's going to be totally cute and fun. Here is her invite. Amy outdid herself. Don't Allie and Aaron look like the "American Gothic" painting of the new century? Look for yours- coming soon.

6. I made Allie a recipe box for her shower. (to keep in her teal and black and white kitchen.) It turned out so cute- if I do say so myself. I'm going to fill it with family recipes. It's a surprise so don't tell her! haha. I want to get her a cute apron from Anthropology to complete the gift. We'll see.

That is all. But it's only been a couple of days since I've been back from vacation. Well I didn't go, but I was pretending. But I liked it so much I think I'm going to be on vacation the rest of the summer! haha. Have fun to all the working suckas!

Katie! I stumbled across your blog and it is so cute!

You are hilarious! Have you decided what you're going to do when August rolls around? I still think we need to waltz into Pioneer like we own the place!

Girl you are spoiled. You do always get the best gifts from your old boss. I hope you enjoy your summer. If you get bored you can come help me hang pictures in my apartment. I really want to but I don't know where to place them. Ugh.
